Warehouse Management System with Real-Time Inventory
A comprehensive warehouse management system (WMS) for StoreWell Logistics managing 3 large distribution centers with over 50,000 SKUs. The system handles inbound receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and dispatch with barcode and RFID scanning support, real-time inventory visibility, and integration with 6 e-commerce platforms.
The Challenge
StoreWell Logistics was operating its warehouses with a combination of a legacy WMS and manual paper-based processes for 40% of operations. Inventory accuracy stood at only 88%, leading to frequent picking errors, misplaced stock, and delayed fulfillment. The system could not integrate with the e-commerce platforms their clients sold on, requiring manual order import.
During peak periods, picking productivity declined sharply as pickers navigated inefficiently without optimized pick path guidance.
Our Solution
We implemented a custom WMS using Laravel and React, replacing the legacy system entirely. RFID readers were installed at receiving docks and key transit points, with barcode scanning handhelds used for picking and packing operations. The system generates optimized pick paths based on order wave grouping and zone-based picking logic.
Direct API integrations were built with Flipkart, Amazon, Meesho, Shopify, Nykaa, and WooCommerce to pull orders automatically and push fulfillment updates. A client portal allows StoreWell's 3PL customers to view their inventory levels, pending orders, and shipment performance in real-time.
