Problems We Solve

Where the day-to-day really hurts

Real pain we’ve seen on Indian factory floors — and how the system fixes each one.

Tally has "kraft paper" as one SKU. You actually sell 80 GSM × 18 BF × 2200mm kraft and 80 GSM × 22 BF × 2750mm kraft as different products. Stock report is fiction.

Grade × GSM × BS × deckle native SKU structure. Auto-generated SKU matrix per grade. Cross-dimensional inventory rollup actually works.

Customer (corrugator) complains "your 18 BF is testing at 15 BF". Your QA team digs through 4 days of paper-machine logs to find which reel-set was bad. By then, 5 more customers received bad reels.

Per-reel QC capture (BS / tear / ring crush) at the winder. Out-of-spec reels held before warehouse dispatch. Bad reel-set traced to wet-end chemistry log in seconds.

Furnish changed during a wet-end shift: operator added more recycled fibre because virgin pulp ran low. Forgot to log. Customer brightness complaint 3 weeks later; you have no record.

Per-reel-set wet-end recipe log with QA override + reason capture for any deviation. Brightness drop traceable to the exact shift + furnish change.

NCERT textbook tender requires 70 GSM × FSC-MIX × 1750mm deckle paper. Your team mixes FSC and non-FSC reels in dispatch. Auditor catches it; QSL status revoked.

FSC / non-FSC reel segregation enforced at dispatch. Per-reel CoC label printed. Tender call-off auto-filters available FSC reels for the order.

Roll-stock: printer takes 60% of a 2200mm × 80 GSM × 5000m roll. Remainder goes back to inventory but stays untracked. Six months later you have ₹15 lakh of partial reels and no record.

Roll-stock with partial-consumption tracking. Each reel's running balance visible; partial-reel returns logged at customer dispatch back-haul.

CPCB effluent monitoring data stored as paper records in the QA cabin. SPCB asks for last 6 months; your team scrambles for 2 days.

CPCB / SPCB effluent compliance data stored in the system (manual entry from your lab reports). Inspector request resolved in 1 click.

Why Omeecron

Built for this industry, not adapted from generic ERP

Grade × GSM × BS × Deckle SKUs

Paper SKU = grade × GSM × Burst Strength × deckle width. 70 GSM 18 BF kraft at 1700mm deckle is a different SKU from 70 GSM 18 BF at 2200mm. Native SKU structure handles the matrix without forcing operators to flatten it.

Raw Furnish Recipe Control

Define furnish per grade: virgin pulp % + waste paper % + broke % + rosin + alum + AKD + retention aid + dyes. Recipe-driven like F&B; spec deviation logged with reason + reason for the wet-end change.

Per-Reel QC Parameters

Every reel captures basis weight (GSM ± tolerance), ISO brightness, caliper, Burst Strength, tear, ring crush, Cobb value, ash, moisture. Out-of-spec reels routed to downgrade / scrap before they leave the warehouse.

Roll + Sheeter Dual Dispatch

Mills sell big mother rolls (1700/2200/2750mm deckle for corrugators) AND cut sheets (A4 / A3 / SRA3 for offset printers). The system handles both invoice + EWB shapes, partial-roll consumption, and converter SKUs.

FSC Chain-of-Custody

FSC-MIX / FSC-100% / FSC-Recycled per reel batched to FSC-certified or non-FSC orders. Per-reel CoC label generated. Export-grade premium paper buyers see audit-ready chain-of-custody documentation.

Government Tender Workflow

NCERT textbook paper, exam paper, ration card paper — central + state agencies have very specific GSM × deckle × FSC × supplier-qualification criteria. Tender workflow tracks bid → award → call-off → delivery against the QSL (Qualified Supplier List).

The Paper SKU Reality

One grade × 8 GSMs × 4 BS classes × 6 deckles = 192 SKUs. Native.

Generic ERPs collapse in paper because they treat "kraft paper" as one product. Reality: kraft paper at 80 GSM with 18 BF burst at 1700mm deckle is a different SKU from kraft at 80 GSM with 22 BF at 2200mm. Same grade, four dimensions, dozens of SKUs.

  • Grade: kraft / writing-print / newsprint / SS kraft / virgin kraft / test liner / specialty (release liner / thermal / food-grade)
  • GSM: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 / 140 (varies by grade)
  • BS / BF: Burst Strength in kg/cm² or Burst Factor — kraft is 16/18/20/22/24 BF typical; writing-print uses lower BS classes
  • Deckle (roll width): 1700 / 2000 / 2200 / 2500 / 2750mm — match to customer corrugator or printer
  • Auto-SKU matrix: define a grade once with allowed GSM × BS × deckle combinations; system auto-generates SKU records as orders come in
  • Cross-deckle inventory rollup: "do I have 80 GSM × 18 BF kraft anywhere?" → answer aggregates across 1700mm + 2200mm + 2500mm reels

End of the "I think we have 80 GSM 18 BF but I'm not sure which deckle" warehouse trips. End of the manual SKU-explosion-in-Tally cleanup every Monday.

Honest Cloud Boundaries

What runs in the browser vs what needs an on-site connector.

Starter and Growth plans are 100% cloud — open Chrome, do everything. Hardware integrations can work but need a small on-site connector (quoted separately, Enterprise scope):

  • ✓ Cloud-only (Starter / Growth): Grade × GSM × BS × deckle SKU matrix · Raw furnish recipes · Per-reel QC manual entry (basis weight, brightness, caliper, BS, tear, ring crush, Cobb, ash, moisture) · Roll-stock partial-consumption tracking · FSC CoC documentation · Government tender workflow · BIS cert library · GST + EWB · RoDTEP for exporters
  • ⚙ Needs on-site connector (Enterprise add-on): Auto-read from QCS (Quality Control System) on the paper machine (typically Honeywell Experion / Valmet IQ / ABB Quality Management Solutions) · Direct DCS log import per reel-set · Reel-tag printer integration at the winder · Scale auto-weight at sheeter dispatch · CPCB / SPCB effluent-monitoring data ingestion

We don't claim cloud-magic over your Honeywell QCS. If you want hands-free per-reel basis-weight + brightness + caliper from your QCS, we install a small Windows agent at the supervisor PC that reads QCS output and pushes per-reel data to the cloud. Quoted per machine. Manual QC entry works fine on Starter / Growth.

On the roadmap · Rolling out through 2026

AI assists on the roadmap for your paper mill.

AI assists are rolling out on the Omeecron platform through 2026 — included on the Growth plan when they ship, no extra cost. Here's exactly where AI will help in your factory's daily flow:

  • 📄 Document AI (OCR + auto-fill): Pulp supplier COAs → grade master auto-drafted; NCERT / state-board tender PDFs → QSL workflow + bid-doc drafted, ready for review.
  • 👁 Quiet Watchdog (anomaly detection): Per-reel basis-weight drift, brightness drop trends, and furnish drift per wet-end shift — flagged the same shift, not after the corrugator complaint.
  • 💬 Ask Your ERP (vertical chatbot): "Reels available with 80 GSM 18 BF FSC-MIX" · "QSL renewal calendar" — typed answer aggregating across deckles in seconds.

These are planned features, not live today. We're building them in the open and Growth-plan customers get them free as they ship. Want early-access? WhatsApp us.

Who is this for?

  • Owner-operators of 50–500 TPD integrated paper mills
  • Production heads managing grade × GSM × deckle changeovers

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Indian Paper, Pulp & Specialty-Paper Mills.

Define a grade once with the allowed dimensions; the system auto-generates SKU records as combinations are produced or ordered. Cross-dimensional reports actually work — "how much 80 GSM kraft do I have?" aggregates across all BS classes and deckles.

  • Grade master: kraft / writing-print / newsprint / SS kraft / virgin kraft / test liner / release liner / thermal / food-grade
  • Allowed dimensions per grade: kraft typically 70-180 GSM, 14-26 BF, 1500-2750mm deckle; writing-print 50-100 GSM, lower BS, narrower deckles
  • Auto-SKU generation: first time you produce or order 80 GSM × 18 BF × 2200mm kraft, the SKU is created; subsequent orders / production reference the same SKU
  • Cross-rollup queries: by grade, by GSM, by deckle, by BS class — all available without flattening
  • Customer-spec mapping: customer wants "GSM 80 ± 2, BS ≥ 18, deckle 2200" → system finds matching SKUs in available inventory

Each grade has an approved furnish recipe (virgin pulp % + waste paper % + broke % + wet-end chemicals). Per-reel-set wet-end log captures actual values; deviation requires QA override with reason. Customer complaints traceable to the exact shift.

  • Approved recipe per grade: 80 GSM kraft = 30% virgin softwood + 30% virgin hardwood + 35% OCC + 5% broke + 0.8% rosin + 0.5% alum + 0.15% retention aid
  • Per-shift / per-reel-set wet-end log: actual values logged by the wet-end operator on tablet
  • Variance check: furnish drift ≥ 5% from spec → QA override workflow + reason capture (e.g. "virgin pulp shortage, increased OCC for this shift")
  • Customer complaint resolution: "your brightness dropped on Reel 487" → 5-second lookup → wet-end log shows 35% OCC pushed to 45% on that shift → reason logged → CAPA workflow

On Starter / Growth: QC parameters entered manually at the winder by the QC operator on a tablet. On Enterprise: a small Windows agent reads your QCS / DCS output and pushes per-reel data to the cloud.

  • Parameters captured per reel: basis weight (GSM ± tolerance), ISO brightness, caliper (µm), Burst Strength (kg/cm² or BF), tear (mN), ring crush (kN/m), Cobb value (g/m²), ash content (%), moisture (%)
  • Out-of-spec routing: if BS is 15 BF but spec is ≥ 18 BF, reel routed to downgrade SKU OR scrap before warehouse
  • QC frequency: configurable — every reel, every 5th reel, every shift sample (typical for parameter monitoring)
  • Connector option (Enterprise): Honeywell Experion / Valmet IQ / ABB QCS data read via OPC UA or CSV export; per-reel mapped automatically

Yes — FSC-MIX / FSC-100% / FSC-Recycled / non-FSC tagged per reel from furnish composition + supplier FSC certs. Reels segregated at dispatch. CoC labels generated per reel for premium-paper buyers.

  • Supplier FSC cert library: pulp suppliers + waste-paper suppliers tagged with their FSC status + cert validity
  • Furnish FSC calc: "this reel-set used 100% FSC-MIX pulp + FSC-Recycled OCC → output is FSC-MIX"
  • Reel segregation: FSC and non-FSC reels physically warehoused separately; SKU also distinguishes (FSC and non-FSC versions of the same grade × GSM × BS × deckle)
  • Per-reel CoC label: printed at winder, carries FSC claim + cert number + per-reel ID
  • Sales gate: customer ordered FSC-MIX → system refuses to allocate non-FSC reels to that order
  • Audit trail: annual FSC CoC audit pre-prep one-click — input pulp lots → output reels with claims

Tender workflow tracks Bid → Award → Call-off → Delivery. QSL (Qualified Supplier List) status maintained per tender body. Per-call-off dispatches scheduled against contract quantity + delivery window.

  • QSL maintenance: NCERT / Tamil Nadu Textbook Society / Bihar Education / etc. each maintain QSL with specific grade × GSM × deckle × FSC × supplier-qualification criteria
  • Bid preparation: tender doc captured; system suggests pricing based on current furnish cost + margin
  • Award tracking: winning tenders create supply contracts with delivery schedules
  • Call-off management: tender body issues monthly / quarterly call-offs against contract; system pulls matching reels from inventory
  • Delivery: dispatches tagged to the tender + call-off; per-call-off ledger reconciled with payment received
  • Renewal alerts: QSL audits, supplier-qualification renewals (typically 1-3 years) tracked on calendar

Each reel has a running balance. Printer / converter takes a portion; remainder returns to inventory with the running-balance updated. Partial reels are flagged in stock reports so they get consumed before fresh production.

  • Reel master: each reel has initial weight + initial linear-metres at production
  • Dispatch entry: when a customer takes a partial reel, weight or linear-metres consumed captured at gate; running balance updated
  • Partial-reel return: back-hauled remaining roll recorded with weight check at gate
  • FIFO with partial preference: stock allocation engine prefers oldest partial reels over fresh full reels (reduces ageing inventory)
  • Ageing report: partial reels older than N days flagged for clearance pricing or downgrade

All major paper sub-verticals are supported. The workflow shape is shared; the QC parameters and customer-spec patterns differ.

  • Kraft (corrugated parents): BS / BF + ring crush + cobb are critical; deckles 1700-2750mm; customers are box manufacturers
  • Writing-print: brightness + opacity + smoothness + caliper; deckles narrower; tender + commercial offset printer customers
  • Newsprint: low GSM (45-49), specific brightness; declining but real segment
  • Tissue / hygiene: bulk + softness + absorbency; converter customers (toilet tissue, kitchen towels, napkins)
  • Specialty: release liner (silicone-coated for label industry), thermal paper, food-grade (FSSAI-compliant), filter, security paper — each with grade-specific QC params

21–28 working days for a 150 TPD paper mill. The variable is SKU + furnish master migration — depends on how many grades you produce and whether your current data is in Tally or a legacy paper-ERP.

  • Day 1–5: Grade master + GSM × BS × deckle dimension setup (typical 6-15 grades × variants)
  • Day 6–9: Furnish recipe library setup with your wet-end supervisor
  • Day 10–12: Customer + supplier + FSC cert master migration
  • Day 13–15: Per-reel QC parameter setup + QC team training
  • Day 16–19: First parallel reel-set production validated
  • Day 20–25: Tender QSL backfill + customer-spec mapping
  • Day 26–28: Cutover with reconciled ledgers

Pricing starts at ₹1,700/month for the Starter plan, with a flat 20% discount when you pay annually.

  • Starter — ₹1,700/month or ₹16,320/year: Grade × GSM × BS × deckle SKU, furnish recipes, per-reel QC manual entry, roll-stock partial-consumption, FSC CoC documentation, BIS cert library, GST + EWB
  • Growth — ₹3,500/month or ₹33,600/year: + multi-GSTIN, government tender workflow + QSL management, RoDTEP for exporters, multi-channel sales (mill-direct / tender / trader / export), priority support
  • Enterprise — Custom quote: + multi-unit (multi-mill groups), dedicated manager, QCS / DCS / reel-tag printer on-site connectors, CPCB / SPCB effluent-data ingestion, SLA-backed uptime

Starter and Growth are 100% cloud — no agents required. QCS (Honeywell / Valmet / ABB) + DCS integrations are Enterprise-tier add-ons, quoted per machine.

Yes — every plan includes ongoing support, free upgrades, and statutory advisory updates (BIS IS 1060 / 1397 / 1848 amendments, FSC scheme updates, CPCB / SPCB compliance circulars, NCERT / state tender body QSL renewals).

  • All plans: Email + WhatsApp support, Mon–Sat 9 AM – 7 PM IST
  • Growth: + Priority phone support, free quarterly upgrades, free Gujarat on-site visits, BIS / FSC / CPCB advisory updates

Glossary — terms used on this page

GSM
Grams per Square Metre — basis weight of paper. 80 GSM kraft is medium-weight; 250 GSM is card. Critical SKU dimension because customers buy specific GSMs for specific applications.
BS / BF
Burst Strength (BS, kg/cm²) or Burst Factor (BF, dimensionless). Measures resistance to bursting. Corrugated box manufacturers spec kraft by BF (e.g. 18 BF, 22 BF) because it determines the box strength.
Deckle
The width of a paper reel (in mm). 1700mm / 2200mm / 2750mm are common kraft deckles. Customer corrugator or printer machines have specific deckle requirements; wrong deckle = paper unusable to that customer.
Furnish
The raw-material mix that goes into the paper machine: virgin pulp (softwood / hardwood / agri-residue) + waste paper (OCC / SOP / MOW) + broke (recycled reject) + wet-end chemicals (rosin / alum / AKD / retention aid / dyes).
Broke
Paper rejected during production or at the winder, recycled back into the furnish. High broke % is normal (5-12%); spike in broke is a QC red flag.
FSC CoC
Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody — certification that the wood pulp + paper output chain is traceable to responsibly managed forests. Required for premium-paper buyers (US/EU export, premium domestic).
